Hall to get a facelift

THE QCWA Oakwood branch is looking forward to having some spruced-up amenities at its Mt Perry Rd hall, after winning a $1000 grant.

The funding is being provided through the monthly Sugarland Shoppingtown community grants project, supported by the NewsMail.

Branch president Branka Medlock said the group was very grateful to receive the money.

"We are more than thrilled," she said.

"It would have taken us three to four months of solid fundraising to be able to achieve this."

As the monthly winners, the QCWA branch has also had the opportunity to promote its group at Sugarland.

"Most importantly, we are a group of friends who support each other and that's what we want to promote," Mrs Medlock said.
