A HAILSTORM has left a carpet of white in its wake after passing through Murphys Creek this afternoon.

Queensland weather group Higgins Storm Chasing posted a photo on social media which showed the extent of the hail.

"Yards have turned white at Murphys Creek, NE of Toowoomba after a hailstorm moved through not too long ago." Higgins posted.

Earlier today the Bureau of Meteorology issued a warning about severe thunderstorms in the region, but that was later cancelled.

Sporadic and light rainfall has fallen on Toowoomba but only 02.mm has been recorded since 9am this morning.

The bureau is predicting a possible shower tomorrow with the minimum temperature expected to be 9 degrees and the maximum 22 degrees.
