A MAN escaped unharmed after he was held up with what appeared to be a pistol outside the Kawana Waters Hotel on Wednesday night.

About 8.15pm, a 40-year-old man was walking towards the hotel on Nicklin Way when he was

approached by an unknown man.

The offender produced what appeared to be a firearm and demanded a bag the man was holding, before fleeing the scene with the bag.

No one was injured as a result of the robbery.

The offender was described as being aged in his 40s, of solid build and about 178 centimetres tall.

Kawana Waters Hotel management and staff did not wish to comment.
