BURNETT HEADS was rocking and rolling over the weekend as the inaugural Blue Water Bear Rockabilly Family Festival got people grooving.

Organiser Scott Couch said everyone he spoke to was impressed with the day.

"It was busy, all the stallholders were happy. We had about 30 display cars and the weather held off which was great," Mr Couch said.

The festival had rockabilly and rock 'n' roll music, raffles, a best retro outfit competition and kid's entertainment.

"The general concept of the day was a real hit," he said.

The day ended with a dinner dance which more than 100 people attended.

Mr Couch said the event would be back next year, but with a different date to avoid clashing with other events.
