DO WE care about our green zones off Bargara and Innes Park?

Apparently not.

We regularly see people fishing and spearing in these zones.

We go snorkelling at Barolin Rocks and have seen some decent-sized fish there.

However the last couple of times we have been there the fish weren't there.

I have spent a few years working in diving on Heron Island, which is protected, and I have seen how good a green zone can be.

This coast could be very good with soft and hard corals, easily accessible and fish stock building up if it was allowed.

Marine parks officers can't be there all the time so it depends on locals to take the details of the offenders who blatantly go and take fish from these areas and to take photos and report them to Marine Park.

I hope we can save these reserves.
