Grammar nazi: That's not how ya' use an apostrophe
YOUR SAY: I totally agree with Stan Klan about the correct use of apostrophes.
At the risk of being pedantic, I believe that his letter contains its own incorrect usage of words.
At school, admittedly a long time ago, the usage of the term "not only" was to be followed by "but also".
Mr Klan's letter omits the "also".
Do most people know how to use an apostrophe correctly?

Perhaps this is now appropriate usage but, as a person brought up in the good old days of rote learning, I remember most of these linguistic idiosyncrasies just as I remember the times tables and I have the ability to do mental arithmetic and I don't need a digital readout on a cash register to tell me how much change is required from a cash transaction.
On an unrelated but positive note, it is wonderful to see the city awash with the beauty of our Jacaranda trees.
