BUNDABERG is set for a soggy few days with heavy rain and wind moving through the region.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Brian James said locals should keep an eye on forecasts.

"There is some rain coming and there has been some patchy rain," he said.

"In a few hours (late Friday morning) we'll probably get some more general rain.

"We're expecting it to be windy and wet but the warning area is slightly to the north of Bundaberg."

However, Mr James said weather could change and there was a possibility Bundaberg could be included in the warning area.

"Tomorrow is going to be wet as well," he said.

Bundaberg is expected to get 15-60mm of rain on Friday, and 20-40mm expected Saturday.

"There will be rain and times and wind on Sunday," Mr James said.

"There's an upper low pressure system around Longreach and it's going to move during Sunday.

"We'll get showers but there won't be the focus that we've got with the weather today and tomorrow."
