Gospel music festival approved

A GOSPEL music festival organisers hope will grow into a major event on the city's calendar is to be held in Bundaberg in June next year.

The drug and alcohol-free event will be held at the Showgrounds on Friday and Saturday, June 22 and 23, next year.

The event is being organised by a committee representing most of Bundaberg's churches, and spokesman Don Robinson said planning had been going on for some time.

The Bundaberg Regional Council gave approval at a meeting this week for the event to go ahead at the Showgrounds and agreed to waive the fee.
