Glider pilot seriously injured in collision with tree

A MAN suffered serious injuries after his glider slammed into a tree north of Dalby.

Emergency services converged on the site about 2.40pm after the glider collided with a tree off Cedar Vale Rd.

The man, aged in his 40s, fractured his left ankle and suffered a deep cut to his right ankle and lower back pains.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was conscious at the scene where he was stabilised by paramedics about 4.45pm.

The man was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition about 5.15pm.
