Get into spirit, Go Christmassy

LOCAL businesses have been challenged to swap their work clothes for a bright red Santa suit or emerald green elf costume for Go Christmassy Day.

The event will be held this Friday as part of the Mayor's Christmas Appeal.

Staff members and clients of Carinbundi dressed in their December 25 best last Thursday in a rehearsal for the event.

General manager Peter Cullen said if the rehearsal was anything to go by, Go Christmassy Day would be an event to remember at the respite service.

"It's approaching Christmas time and we like to think we're community minded," he said.

"It's a whole lot of fun and it gives us a chance to try and help people less fortunate than ourselves."

So far, organisations such as YMCA of Bundaberg, Bonney Tots 2, Wide Bay Australia, Bundaberg Regional Council and Burnett Respite Services have expressed their interest.

Those participating are asked for a gold coin donation towards the Mayor's Christmas Appeal.
