Gardening gurus workshop kicks off

ASPIRING green thumbs have a chance to learn all the tricks of the trade with a Gardening with Gurus workshop at the Bundaberg Civic Centre tomorrow.

Bundaberg Bush House and Orchid Club is bringing three experts from across the state to give practical demonstrations on growing orchids, vermilions and tropical plants.

“We will also have some other displays there and the club will also be having a plant for sale section,” organiser Val Johnson said.

She assured novice gardeners they were welcome.

“When we have stalls at the markets, it's amazing the number of people who come up and ask where they can grow a plant and how much shade it needs,” she said.

“The workshop is really designed for people like that, who love plants but are not quite sure how to go about growing them.”

The day will also feature lucky door prizes, a raffle and demonstrations and starts at 9am.
