Gap remains the same at the top of NDRL table

THE calculators could be out in the final two rounds as Gin Gin and Avondale battle for the minor premiership in the Northern Districts Rugby League.

With both teams tied with the same number of wins, only 61 points separate both sides in for and against as they battle for the week off.

Amazingly, in the last round, Gin Gin’s for-and-against lead didn’t change as both teams recorded victories by a margin of 36 points at Agnes Water.

A hat-trick to Klint Beer helped Gin Gin to a 52-16 win over Miriam Vale and won winning 60-24 over Burnett Heads.

To complete the trifecta, Agnes Water also recorded a 36-point win with a 46-10 victory over South Kolan.

The win also gives the Marlins third spot on the ladder ahead of the finals.

In this week’s matches to be held at Miriam Vale, Agnes Water will take on Burnett Heads with South Kolan to take on Gin Gin.

Avondale will face the Magpies as they aim for a large win to stoke their minor premiership hopes.

All the action this weekend starts at noon.

Meanwhile, the final round in Gin Gin has been moved to Sunday, July 24.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, it has now been moved to its traditional date with matches to start at the normal times.
