Gambling reform laws pass House of Representatives

THREE separate bills to reform national gambling laws passed the House of Representatives on Thursday.

The bills include changes to ensure pre-commitment on all poker machines by December next year, with clubs and pubs in regional areas given an extra few years to deliver the change.

There will also be a $250 withdrawal limit at ATMs in gaming venues from May next year, except for some remote venues where there are few or no other withdrawal machines.

It also will enact electronic warnings on pokies by 2016.
