Gallery supports local artist with trip to her studio

AS PART of the Botanicals exhibition currently on show at the Childers Arts Space, the gallery is organising a trip to visit artist Judith Bohm-Parr's Studio 8 Glass facility at South Isis on Thursday, November 5.

The event will start with a morning tea and talk by Judith at the gallery at 10am, followed by a bus trip to Studio 8 Glass where visitors can view her workshop and walk through her extensive garden Xanadoo, which gave her the inspiration for the exhibition. Bookings are essential, phone the gallery on 4130 4876.

A local couple, Andrew and Nikki Beckenhauer, are encouraging local artists to become involved in their project, The Night of 1000 Drawings, which involves completing a drawing on an A5 size paper. Any media can be used.

These artworks will then be exhibited on Saturday, November 28, at the Paragon Theatre at a special event. Proceeds from this event will go to Phoenix House.

Entries can be dropped off at the Childers Arts Space.

For further enquiries, please contact the gallery on 4130 4876.

The Childers Arts Shop Gift Shop has received some new stock just in time for Christmas.

All items for sale are created by our local talented artists.

With the festive season steadily approaching, everyone is invited to come into the gallery to browse the gift shop for Christmas gifts.

The gallery is open from 9am to 4pm weekdays and 9am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
