Comment: Funding a big win for community

Comment: HOW wonderful is it to see that programs supporting families will continue in our region after today's funding announcement.

And the two Impact programs - Positive Start Parenting Program and Family Mental Health Support Service - are clearly delivering on their promised outcomes, otherwise they wouldn't have been so successful in securing the $2.4 million.

Raising a family can be overwhelming, so it is good to know that help is easily at hand for those who are willing to reach out.

And any funding that provides support in the mental health area is vitally needed.

The proactive nature of these programs also means that people can seek help before their problems get out of hand - something that is not always available.

Hundreds of people and families have been helped by these programs over the years - which is also a testament to how much we need this continued funding, so organisations like Impact can continue to provide the much-needed help and support.
