Fun night? You bet it will be

THE only thing better than a good night out with friends is a great night out for a good cause.

Bundaberg Hospital nurses Wendy Bryant and Trish Moses have joined forces with Jenny Hinds and Josie Roberts-Smith, raising money for the Variety Foundation, in their latest fundraising venture for the Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia Women on the Run initiative.

Ms Moses said the Casino Fun Night, to be held at Sugarland Tavern on July 11, would have a Guys 'n' Gals of the Gatsby Period theme.

"For just $75 per person you can get $2000 'funny money' to use on four gaming tables, a complementary drink, finger foods, live auctions and entertainment throughout the night by Bella Bliss Pole and Burlesque Studio and a DJ," she said.

"Guests are invited to come in costume, and a winner will be announced on the night and presented with a trophy.

"It promises to be a fun night with an experienced Brisbane gaming company travelling up to host the event. We're hoping Bundaberg region residents will join us for a fantastic night out in support of these two worthy causes."

Ms Bryant said the Casino Fun Night was one of a number of fundraising events held to assist the duo to reach their $15,000 fundraising goals.

"So far we have raised $9966 for the Hamlin Fistula Foundation thanks to the generosity and support of local businesses and the community," she said.

"The foundation assists women suffering in Ethiopia with an obstetric fistula and assists in training midwives to help prevent this tragic injury.

"With these funds we can help make a difference in the life of Ethiopian women, some as young as 12 years old, who are no longer considered fit to participate in society."

The event is sponsored by Complete Barrier Solutions and Moore Park Pharmacy.

Tickets, which must be pre-purchased, are just $75 each and can be purchased by calling Trish Moses on 0409 274 327 or Wendy Bryant on 0428 228 894.

Doors open at 7.30pm. To find out more and donate, visit hamlinfistulafund raising.com/wendyandtrish or find Wendy and Trish on the Run on Facebook.
