Fun in sun serves up beach valet
EVER wished for someone to wait on you hand and foot while you soak up the rays at the beach?
It may not be long till your dream becomes a reality.
Australia's first full beach valet service has opened up on the Gold Coast.
Following in the footsteps of Brazil and Cannes in France, Hilton in Surfers Paradise provides transportation of beach gear and belongings to and from the hotel.
The valet will also find prime spots on the sand, replenish the supply of drinks, snacks, towels, toys and sunscreen.
The price is $100 for three hours, but the total cost depends on what you consume.
Would it work on the Sunshine Coast?
Coast holiday maker, Luke Fing said he would give the service a go.
Although the Goondiwindi local only gets to the beach once a year, he said he would splurge on this luxury service.
But Maroochy Surf Club function attendant Sue Love is not rushing to offer to be a waitress if a service opens on the Coast.
"It would be a hot job waiting on people in the sun all day," she said.
One local who would be jumping at the chance to be pampered if the price was right is Dimity Stoyle, 19 of Buderim.
She said on a recent trip to South America she took full advantage of the food and drink services on the beach.
