Full steam ahead for Bundy team

BUNDABERG rail workers resuscitated the region's reputation when they won the Queensland Rail First Aid Incident Response state title recently.

The win was the third straight victory for the team of six, who broke the 95-year dry spell for Bundaberg in 2007.

Team captain Peter Brown was thrilled with the win.

“We are very proud of the fact that we have won three times. Everybody was ecstatic because there was a lot of pressure on us to win as we were the favourites,” he said.

Mr Brown initially learned first aid to take care of his family and the skill grew from there.

“What started as a personal interest has led to me being an in-service trainer for Queensland Rail,” he said.

The team will now go on to the inter-business competition to compete against St John Ambulance Service and QUT nurses.
