One sleep until Full Noise fest

A RARE treat for North Queensland, star-studded electro rock festival Full Noise Music is gearing up to wow fans in Townsville tomorrow.

Empire of the Sun are just one of the great acts to be performing at Full Noise Music Festival at the Townsville & District Rugby Union Club from 12.30pm

Empire of the Sun is an Australian electronic music duo formed in 2007 by Luke Steele of alternative rock group The Sleepy Jackson and Nick Littlemore of famed dance duo Pnau.

Other acts include Frenzal Rhomb, Pez, The Lost Valentinos, British India, Koolism, and Bluejuice.

To accommodate all of the bands, the line-up has been set over two stages: The Main Stage and The Dance Tent.

A limited number of last minute  ticket were released today.

Full Noise Festival is on Saturday 24 October at the Townsville  District Rugby Union Club, Hugh Street. Gates open at 12.30pm and the noise runs between 1pm and 10pm. Open to 15 years plus. Empire of the Sun is an Australian electronic music duo formed in 2007 by Luke Steele of alternative rock group The Sleepy Jackson and Nick Littlemore of famed dance duo Pnau.

The pair, whose name comes from the 1984 novel of the same name by J.G. Ballard, achieved chart success with their first single Walking on a Dream, which peaked at number ten on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart and reached number 64 on the UK Singles Chart.

Their debut album, also entitled Walking on a Dream was released in October 2008, and to-date has been certified platinum in Australia and has spawned the top 25 We are the People. Recently Empire of the Sun has gained mainstream media attention for gaining fourth position on the BBC’s annual Sound if Music poll 2009.
