Fraser Anning volunteer mauled by rottweiler

A Fraser Anning party volunteer has been hospitalised after he was bitten on the hand by a rottweiler while handing out flyers at a polling booth south of Brisbane.

Wesley Walker, 55, said he was sitting at Saint Mary's Church in Beaudesert, which is in the division of Wright, when the rottweiler bit him on the hand about 10.30am this morning.

Flashing, vandalism and dirty deeds on election day

"I was sitting there like a nice Aussie in my Akubra hat and RM Williams pants with my little dog on my lap," he said.

"This rottweiler on the loose wandered on over and went to attack him so I put my hand out.

"His tooth went in and hit bone, slid down the bone and came out the other side."

Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics treated a man in his 50s on the scene before taking him in a stable condition to Beaudesert Hospital.

Mr Walker said at the hospital he received a tetanus shot and some antibiotics before walking back to the polling station hours later.

"They advised me to go rest but I'm a good hard Aussie and I believe in this campaign and what Fraser Anning's Party is about," he said.

Mr Walker said he had joined Fraser Anning's Conservative National Party about a week ago.

He said since last Friday, he said he had been up every morning at 6.30am with the "loudest and proudest" signs in Beaudesert's main street.

Fraser Anning's candidate for Wright Rod Smith said he had spoken to Mr Walker and applauded his dedication.

"He rang me and said he was already back there. He's very dedicated and couldn't wait to get back on the polling booth," he said.

Mr Walker said he would be taking legal action.
