Forty Winks draws a crowd to grand opening

ANOTHER addition to the growing retail precinct in Johanna Blvd has been welcomed by those who value a good night's sleep.

Forty Winks owner Adam Healey said Saturday's official grand opening saw a great response from customers.

"This Saturday was a good test for us to see had the store looked and how the customers responded. It was definitely above expectation," he said.

"We had a mix of customers, some who said they'd been waiting for Forty Winks to come up here and others who never thought it left.

"Forty Winks had been up here for about eight or nine years but it closed about three years ago.

"We're still a little underdone with the bedroom key suites.

"We've got about 25 suites but we've got about four to five to come... it will only get better."

Also the owner of the Hervey Bay store, Mr Healey said he was impressed by the retail precinct that has grow significantly in Johanna Blvd in the last 12 months.

"I was here about 12 months ago... it was really quiet and the traffic was low," he said.

"But now it's almost like being on a main road. "It's more of a location now.

"I think bedding's great when you can have a couple of stores close to each other it just makes it easier for the customers to shop around and I think that's important."

Bundaberg Chamber of Commerce president Yale Morgan it was exciting for the community to see national retailers investing here.

"If the larger players are coming to town they must see a bright future for retail," he said.
