Former cop held in custody after wife, children stabbed

A FORMER police officer accused of repeatedly stabbing his wife and two young children at the weekend will remain in custody until at least next month.

The man, who cannot be named, faced Brisbane Magistrate Court today charged with three counts of attempted murder, two counts of grievous bodily harm and one of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man, 41, made no application for bail during the brief court appearance.

He sat with his back to the public gallery as police applied for a temporary protection order to prevent him contacting his alleged victims.

Police alleged the man stabbed his wife, 39, daughter, 9, and son, 7, in a frenzied attack at their Carina home on Sunday.

All three have all undergone surgery and remain in hospital in serious but stable conditions.

Magistrate Paul Kluck remanded the man into custody and adjourned the matter until March 10.
