Former Aramac mayor on bid team

RUGBY LEAGUE: Former long-serving Aramac mayor and Central West businessman Gary Peoples is the latest addition to the CQ NRL bid team.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be involved. All of us in the Central West should get behind the bid because I can see many tangible benefits, not just at the rugby league level, but broadly speaking, also in relation to our western communities,” he said.

Originally from Thargomindah, he represented the South-West as a centre.

He later moved to Aramac, where the Peoples’ family acquired several businesses and helped form a rugby league side, the Aramac Bush Pigs.
