FLOOD WATCH: SES on high alert but not at lean forward stage

WITH flood watch coming in to force yesterday, Bundaberg's State Emergency Service is on the highest alert for the year.

SES member Jeff Green said he had placed people on stand-by after receiving alerts from the Bureau of Meteorology.

"This is the highest level alert for the year so far - but it's wait and see," Mr Green said.

"It's still very low and we haven't gone into that lean forward stage yet."

Mr Green said the SES had preparations in place and would be on call.
