Flipping fantastic - Out of Africa

THE circus will roll into town next week to give Bundaberg residents a taste of Africa.

The Loritz Circus production, Out of Africa, features 20 talented performers from around the world.

Out of Africa’s tour manager Maryanne Schulz said the animal-free circus featured several “amazing acts”.

“Seven-year-old Americus does a talented performance with hula hoops,” she said.

“And (Americus) has even been featured on (television program) Oprah for her skills.

“It is just wonderful to watch.”

Ms Schulz said the Seven Royal Kenyans were an act not to be missed with their athletic abilities, and were always a favourite with the crowd.

“They perform fire dancing, fire limbo and lots of acrobatic tricks,” she said.

The circus docked in Australia yesterday after a two-year tour of New Zealand.

“Our plan is to tour all states in Australia for around five years,” Ms Schulz said.

“We hope to do performances in all of Queensland in 2010 and go from there.”

Shows will be held daily from January 12 to 17 at the Bundaberg Showgrounds.

Ticket prices start at $22 for B reserve adult seats and $16 for children’s seats.

Ringside seats and family passes are also available.

Tickets can be purchased by telephoning 0439 247 287.
