Five people arrested over violent robbery

POLICE have arrested five people after they allegedly stole a car after a fight.

Police say around 12:25am two groups of people in two cars pulled over on Old North Road after a verbal altercation.

The altercation became physical, with the 47-year-old male driver of one car being assaulted and his car stolen.

He was transported to Redcliffe Hospital for treatment of serious facial injuries.

Police responded and established a cordon and patrols located five people in the Brendale area, who were taken into custody.

Investigations are continuing.
