Firies battle Coonarr blaze

FIREFIGHTERS are still battling a blaze which started on Coonarr Beach Rd yesterday morning.

The blaze is burning safely in containment lines and crews conducted back-burning and strengthened containment lines overnight.

The fire is about 50 hectares in size and not a threat to any properties.

The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service has warned the bushfire is expected to produce large amounts of smoke in the Innes Park, Burrum Heads and Maryborough areas.

People with asthma or lung conditions are advised to stay inside.
