Rugby League Grand Final has flight prices soaring
AIMEE Barclay's daughter is a die-hard Cowboy's fan, her husband is a Bronco's supporter and she has tickets to the NRL grand final.
You'd think the household would be over the moon.
But sky-high flight prices to Sydney have brought the Mackay family's hopes of attending the historic grand final crashing to an end.
"It's about $2000 each (to fly to Sydney and back)," Mrs Barclay said.
"We thought about driving but we have a two-year-old. It would be a pain.
"We're going to have to sell them."
Have you been caught out with the increase in flight prices?

Booking a flight from Mackay to Sydney with Virgin Australia for next Saturday, the day before game day, cost $769 online yesterday.
The trip would cost just $225 the Saturday after.
Jetstar had sold out of seats on Saturday flights, but the Mackay to Sydney trip would cost $638 on Friday.
It would cost $178 a week later.
"It's just ridiculous. It's really disappointing," Mrs Barclay said.
At least her grand final tickets weren't going to waste, with three people offering to buy them.
But owner of Mackay and Mount Pleasant helloworld Steven Boxall said the high prices were due to availability.
"It's been limited seats (on that weekend) for a long time," Mr Boxall said.
"Lots of flights would have been booked already, it's the last weekend of the school holidays and it's a long weekend."
He suggested people try Whitsunday or Hamilton Island airports once flights from Mackay sold out.
helloworld had 10 packages, including flights, a motel, a cruise to the stadium and diamond seating left, and Mr Boxall said they would sell out quickly.
Cowboys will take on the Broncos in the NRL grand final. Kick-off 6.15pm (Queensland time) at ANZ Stadium, Sunday October 4.
