Charity golf day a hit

BUNDABERG cancer patients will be able to look good and feel better, thanks to a charity golf day that raised more than $10,000.

More than 130 golfers hit the Bargara Golf Club fairways last Friday for the Look Good Feel Better Bundaberg charity day. Organisers Dianne Schneider and Cheryl Hadley were ecstatic with the day’s success.

“We raised $10,000 last year and our goal was to get at least that, which we did,” Ms Schneider said.

The money will go directly towards cosmetic workshops to help lift morale among cancer patients who have been through chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

“If we can improve someone’s wellbeing, it’s got to be worth it,” Ms Schneider said.

The hole-in-one with a Peugeot as the prize failed to go off, but Ms Schneider said organisers were working on “something big” for next year’s event, to be held on September 9.

Previously a female domain in Bundaberg, Look Good Feel Better held its first men’s night last week, to a full class.

Instead of the feminine paint and powder pick-me-up, the men were treated to skin, circulation and scalp care.
