Thabeban stabbing

A MAN in his 50s was taken to Bundaberg Hospital on Friday afternoon with non-life threatening injuries after a 49-year-old woman allegedly stabbed him in the chest.

Bundaberg Police Sergeant Mike McLennan said the injury, although it was made with a 15cm kitchen knife to the right upper chest, was a minor laceration and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police were called to the incident at a Riedy Street residence about 5pm and arrested the Thabeban woman, who is charged with unlawful wounding, and is scheduled to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court Monday.

Meanwhile, a thief climbed to the second floor of a Bargara resort on Friday night, onto balconies and stole cash from wallets as the occupants slept, Bundaberg Police Sergeant Mike McLennan said.

And, a key may have been used to unlock a door at a Princess Street premises in east Bundaberg, where cash was stolen at about 8pm on Saturday night.

Bundaberg Police Sergeant Mike McLennan said police were investigating.
