Fatal hit and run

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fatal hit and run in Roma last night.

A man was discovered on Bowen Street around 11.45pm after being struck by a vehicle.

A passing motorist found the man injured on the side of the road and contacted police.

He was transported to the Roma Hospital but died soon after.

Bowen Street was closed between Lewis Street and Tiffin Street until shortly before 8am this morningand traffic was diverted around Station St.

Emergency services were at the scene and the Police Forensic Crash are still investigating the accident. 

Police have not yet released the victim's name.
