Fashion history at art gallery

FLARES, mini-skirts and knitwear will be at the cutting edge of fashion on Barolin St as the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery opens its new exhibition today.

Strike a Pose with Lee Lin Gin steps back in time to show the trends from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as celebrating Australian fashion photography.

"These pictures are not about art," the SBS World News anchor said. "They are not even just about fashion because, from today's perspective, they've recorded a transcendent historical moment when nothing was going to be quite the same."

The exhibition, featuring 89 photographs, is open until July 8.
