Fashion experts to share secrets

FASHION industry experts will hit Bundaberg today to show local girls how to strut their stuff.

Beautiful Minds director Marina Passalaris and Mint Model and Corporate Creative director Jo Sheils have combined their make-up, deportment, grooming and modelling expertise to give regional girls a chance to gain life skills and see what the industry is all about.

They will hold their first class at 3.30pm today for “mini models” aged five to 13, who will learn confidence and catwalk talents in a two-hour workshop.

A models weekend workshop will be held over two days on March 13 and 14 for girls aged 12 to 18.

Attendees will learn body issues, speech, confidence, catwalk, hair and make-up.

Ms Sheils said the idea came about after visiting a regional town and realising there were not many resources available to girls hoping to enter the fashion industry.

“It’s great to be able to give advice to these girls.

“The confidence this course gives them is just huge. I have parents calling and thanking us for helping these girls to realise their potential ,” she said.
