Wedding and formal expo showcases the best

BUSINESSES from around the Wide Bay had their services on show for brides and grooms at the Bundaberg Wedding and Formal Expo yesterday.

Event organiser Wendy Irwin said the expo, now in its seventh year, offered a one-stop venue for all wedding and formal needs at the Bundaberg Civic Centre.

"We have over 80 exhibitors from cars to cakes, venues to makeup," she said.

"You basically just have to walk in and you could book your whole wedding day."

This year, the event featured a new display of wedding gowns and suits from Casar Elegance and The Hut Menswear.

"We used to have a fashion parade but this display is much better because it gives people the opportunity to take the time to look at the dresses and suits," Mrs Irwin said.

Jade Wilkinson attended the expo in search of a wedding cake for her big day.

"We have everything else organised, now it's just the wedding cake, some centrepieces and a few other bits and pieces left," she said.

"This expo is great. I attended a Brisbane expo last week and this one is just as good if not better."

Bride-to-be Kylie Hermann was also at the expo in search for some last minute items.

"I'm getting married in September and came in to see my marriage celebrant and to also get some ideas," she said.

"It's a really beautiful event."
