Expect hot reception for former coach

RUGBY: Canberra could be extra chilly on Saturday for Sharks coach Jake White whose return to the club he walked out on eight months into a three-year deal has not been forgotten by the players, or Brumbies fans.

White returns with his South African side sitting on top of the Super Rugby ladder on 35 points, five clear of the second-placed Brumbies.

Brumbies skipper Ben Mowen has made no secret he and other teammates are dirty on White (pictured) for deserting the club last season, and that alone will spark some added emotion along with the opportunity to close the gap between the two teams on the ladder.

Mowen said some of the players had not had any contact with White since he left and were still angry over the way he left the club.

The Brumbies, however, can't allow their focus to shift away from the clash at hand following a 40-20 loss to the Crusaders marred by ill-discipline with 21 points coming from penalties. Meanwhile, the wheels have well and truly fallen off the Reds as they staggered to a 44-14 loss to the Blues at the weekend, the last rites delivered to their disappointing Super Rugby season.

The Reds now have to try and salvage something from the wreckage at home on Sunday against the Crusaders with both James Slipper, whose fate is in the hands of a SANZAR judiciary following his weekend sin-binning, and hard-running winger Chris Feauai-Sautia who is facing time on the sidelines with a shoulder injury, a doubt to play.
