Exhibition lifetime experiences
LIFE experiences from the city, hinterland and the outback are where Gin Gin artist Suzanne Robinson draws her inspiration, and starting from today, art lovers are invited to share it with her.
The Gin Gin Regional Courthouse Gallery is hosting Mrs Robinson's exhibition, Suzart & Photography, which captures moments of her life in time using mainly pastels.
“Throughout the years, I have developed a great respect for the beauty of nature and how it merges into every aspect of life around us,” she said.
“I feel this especially in regard to this beautiful country, Australia, with its visually rich contrasts.
“I endeavour to portray this subtle beauty with a great respect for creation as it is.”
The artist also attributes her artistic talents to the experiences she has shared with her husband Steve and their three sons.
“We have lived in the city, hinterland and outback. We have always had a hard working life with a strong sense of responsibility and a zest for having a go,” she said.
Mrs Robinson said working with pastels provided her with the ability to “create softness, textures and the feeling of touch” as she applied the medium.
She has had two art exhibitions in Brisbane, is a member of the Australian Pastel Society and the Gin Gin Fine Arts Society and continues to attend workshops as often as possible.
The exhibition will have an official opening ceremony tomorrow night at 6pm, and will be on display until September 29.
