Epic Ping Pong event raises $15k to fight trafficking
THE Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Nambour has served up a big dose of justice for the victims of human trafficking.
More than 60 players joined a 24 hour Ping-Pong-a-Thon which raised more than $15,000 for Destiny Rescue and seven other organisations.
There are an estimated 27 million slaves in the world today.
Destiny Rescue is committed to liberating those enslaved and restoring those that have been abused.
Destiny is a Christian based, non-profit organisation dedicated to rescuing children from human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
It operates programs in five nations: Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, and India.

Nambour's Ping-Pong-A-Thon is one of more than 40 events across Australia.
The $15,000 total was the biggest raised for a first time event and has helped Australian organisers kick start their quest to raise more than $200,000 this year.
Nambour event organiser Jennie Brown praised the efforts of the many involved to make the event at Flametree Baptist Church a huge success.
The fundraiser included a Pink Pong-a-Thon for the women which included a cameo appearance by 'intruder' Pastor Joel Baker, dressed in a pink wig disguise.

A couple of the most eager players played almost around the clock, one doorknocked two streets to raise his funds, while another was given a $1000 donation.
The next events include: Oct 2-3 Springwood (Brisbane); Oct 23-24 Gold Coast; Oct 23-24 Stafford (Brisbane) and Oct 30-31 Hervey Bay.
