EMERGENCY services were on the scene of a kitchen fire at Coral Cove Bar and Grill this morning.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said it was believed the fire, which ignited at  about 7.45am, started near a deep fryer.

One person, who was standing in front of the deep fryer around the time the fire started, was taken to hospital with facial burns.

The restaurant stated on their Facebook page that the kitchen would be closed until further notice.
