Coast shopping centre evacuated after reports of fire

UPDATE 12.27PM: A SUNSHINE Coast shopping centre has been evacuated and emergency crews called after reports of a building fire. 

Initial reports indicated that there was a fire in the roof of a Sippy Downs shopping centre.

Paramedics, fire crews, and police were called to the Chancellor Village Boulevard address, with fire crews isolating the gas power.

A QFES spokesperson said there was no evidence of a fire on arrival, but there was a strange odour.

Fire crews assessed the scene and deemed the scene safe before leaving at 11.58am.
