Early risers support Pyjama Foundation
A SMALL but energetic group of people completed the 10km Long Road Walk on the weekend to raise money for The Pyjama Foundation.
Twenty walkers enjoyed the walk from Burnett Heads down to Mon Repos and back again early on Sunday morning.
Long Road Walks also were held in Gladstone, Mackay, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast. The Pyjama Foundation regional coordinator for Wide Bay Cressida Toorenburg said the event was only in its second year and would continue to grow.
"We had more people than last year and they really loved the walk," Ms Toorenburg said.
Ms Toorenburg said there are 20 Pyjama Angels - who read to children in foster care on a weekly basis - in the Wide Bay region.
"We are always looking for children to be referred for an angel," she said.
