Eagles and Warriors ready to pounce

FOOTBALL: The United Park Eagles and United Warriors will be hoping results go their way for a top-two finish in the men's Wide Bay League.

With both teams two points behind Waves, they will be hoping Brothers Aston Villa can defeat them to create the chance.

For the Eagles their task is the toughest as they face Doon Villa at Martens Oval at 4pm.

Not only do they need the victory, they also need to rely on the Warriors losing or drawing against Diggers in Hervey Bay.

If the Warriors win then the Eagles need to win big to overtake the Hervey Bay side on for and against.

Heading into the round that is seven goals.

With so many potential results, the positions may not be finalised until the final kick on Saturday.

In the other match of the final round, Sunbury takes on KSS Jets.

In the women's Wide Bay League cup, Bingera will take on United Warriors tomorrow.

The match will take place at Martens Oval at 1pm with Bingera aiming to continue their good recent form.
