Double fatality breaks Ipswich's heart on social media

THE tragic story of a young mother and father who lost their lives in a fatal road accident, leaving behind the little girl they welcomed into the world only eight months ago has touched readers.

Driver Ryan Burwell, 27, of Rosewood and his partner Juanita Kirner, 20, of Laidley, were killed when their Holden Commodore skidded off Toongarra Rd at Leichhardt on Tuesday night, smashing into two trees and a fence before slamming side-on into a power pole.

The couple had only just celebrated the birth of their daughter, Melody, on Valentine's Day this year.

Their story reached an audience of more than 70,000 readers on Facebook with our Facebook post being shared 398 times, attracting more than 200 comments.

Readers inundated the QT Facebook pages with an outpouring of grief and tributes for the family.
