Schoolies session to inform
SCHOOL leavers will have the opportunity to find out how to keep safe and out of trouble during end of school celebrations at an information session next Thursday.
The session by criminal law specialist Nick Dore and solicitor Rian Dwyer, head of the Fisher Dore Lawyers Bundaberg office, will cover drugs, the pitfalls of social media, personal safety and security and avenues for help and support.
Mr Dwyer said the session was open to young people and parents and will discuss how convictions could potentially affect employment prospects and long term goals.
"Schoolies season is fast approaching and this session is a way of educating people about the issues that could occur.
"We aim to give people the facts and information on ways of support as well as some insight into how social media has especially become out of control during the end of school," he said.
The session will be held from 5.30pm on Thursday at the School of Arts Building on Bourbong St.
