Dolly Parton fans ready to be wowed

DOLLY Parton fans can look forward to a stellar performance when the country music idol rolls into Brisbane next week (Nov 25) for the last shows of her Australian tour.

Critics and fans alike have praised her Perth and Adelaide shows in what will probably be her last tour Down Under.

Despite unseasonably heavy rain and parking issues, Parton's Perth show saw the 65-year-old charm the crowd with stories sprinkled in between stellar performances of the top hits from her mammoth back catalogue.

In Adelaide, the 12,000-strong crowd was reportedly on its feet for her hits Islands in the Stream and 9 to 5.

Queensland fans can expect to hear plenty of other hits including Jolene, White Limousine, I Will Always Love You and Coat of Many Colors as well as covers of Walking on Sunshine, The Beatle's Help and Collective Soul's Shine.

Parton's oversized tour buses, shipped all the way from the US, have been racking up the kilometres on the bitumen during the 12-date tour after federal Transport Minister Anthony Albanese allowed them into the country.

Customs officials reportedly thought they were too large for Australian roads.

The rhinestone adorned singer certainly charmed the Australian media at her Sydney press conference, cracking plenty of jokes and gracefully answering the too often asked questions about her plus-sized chest.

The Australian leg of her Better Day world tour finishes with three back-to-back shows at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre November 25 through 27. Limited tickets are still available through Ticketek.
