Disabled get a new home

A FOUR-BEDROOM house in Bundaberg will soon be home to people with a disability.

Disability Services Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk announced yesterday a total of $4 million would be spent on buying and renovating six new properties in Bundaberg and Hervey Bay.

The Bundaberg house will be leased from the Department of Communities by Endeavour Bundaberg, who will provide the specialist support required by the individuals.

“The six properties will significantly increase the amount of suitable, affordable and sustainable accommodation for people with a disability in Bundaberg and Hervey Bay,” Ms Palaszczuk said yesterday.

“The houses are in fantastic settings and I am confident they will make a very positive difference in the lives of the individuals who will soon call them home.”
