Developers want committee members

THE Urban Development Institute of Australia, Queensland has opened nominations for members to join its Bundaberg management committee.

The Institute is a national not-for-profit organisation whose state affiliate represents the property development industry in local branches throughout Queensland.

UDIA (Qld) president Brett Gillan said members were property development professionals who contributed to both the social and economic health of local communities.

"In this industry we do more than just build houses," Mr Gillan said.

"We play a role in the lives of every single Queenslander in developing the spaces people call home," he said.

Mr Gillan said the industry was the fourth largest creator of jobs in Queensland.

The role of the committee is to assist in the delivery of better local communities by working to stimulate the industry to meet demand and ensure housing affordability.

Members of the UDIA (Qld) interested in nominating for a committee position should contact the Institute on 32291589 or bundaberg@udiaqld.com.au for more information.
