Detonators stolen from railway at Kuranda

POLICE are investigating the theft of three detonators from the railway line at Kuranda.

Sometime between 6.30am on Thursday and 3.30pm on Friday, unknown offenders have entered the railway yard and taken the detonators that were located on the railway tracks.

The detonators are described as red/orange in colour and approximately 50mm in diameter.

Police are appealing to anyone who may come into contact with the items to contact police immediately, as they can be dangerous if handled incorrectly.

Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity between these times or who may have seen the detonators are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
