Defying gravity at Woodgate

THIRTY-THREE talented tricksters jumped on their boards and strapped on their skates to compete in the recent Grinding It Up @ Woodgate competition.

Plenty of skaters, bikers, bladers and scooters arrived at the Woodgate skatebowl to wow the crowd.

Bundaberg Regional Council youth development officer Andrea Bax said the event was a huge success and the three local skaters who judged the events did a great job.

“Jamie, Travis and Kalob have been great here today, they knew what they were looking for and were able to give us non-boarders a bit of insight into the physical demands of this sport,” she said.

The Woodgate community enjoyed watching the numerous thrills and spills.

Ms Bax said events like this are only made successful through the help and partnerships made within a community and the hard work put in by all.

The council hopes to hold a similar event in the future.
