Dawn Fraser apologises for 'racist' Nick Kyrgios comments
AUSTRALIAN sporting icon Dawn Fraser has "unreservedly apologised" for her controversial comments about Australian tennis stars Nick Kyrgios.
"I want to unreservedly apologise for any comments that I made this morning which may have caused offense to my fellow Australians including Nick and his family," Fraser said in a statement released Tuesday afternoon.
They were comments Kyrgios's brother Christos said were the "worst example anyone can set in life" and especially disappointing given Ms Fraser's profile.
Ms Fraser caused a storm on breakfast television on Tuesday morning when she said Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic should "go back to where their fathers or parents came from".
The interview instantly drew criticism on social media, including from Kyrgios and his family, and were branded as racist.
