Daly wins his first monthly medal

THE monthly medal for September provided a breakthrough victory for Geoff Daly, who, after many appearances, finally won his first medal with a great score of 67 nett.

The ever-improving left-hander may have been mistaken for PGA tour player John Daly as he negotiated tough conditions for a narrow win over Ray Read who finished up on 69 nett.

Pam Hadaway and Tina Price continue to be a winning combination in the Thursday Club.

The pair combined well to win the 4BBB Stableford event with 54 points for Gil Guard and Howard Dobell on 50 points.

Pam Hadaway is on a winning streak in team events and her recent partnership with Julie Poppelock produced another win.

Congratulations to Gill Guard who had a hole-in-one on the 17th hole. Well done ol' Gill.

A special mention must go to Bill Hadaway, who eagled the third hole, and Di Clark, who almost had a hole-in-one but came up a mere 15cm short.

This weekend also marks the golf club's McGrath Foundation Charity Golf Day.

The golf club will be painted pink for the day and there will be a variety of prizes on offer.

There will also be prizes also for the best-dressed team and the best decorated golf cart.

The day is open for members and non-members, but be quick to reserve a tee time as there is only a few spots left.

The car boot sale will also be from 9am-noon for people to come on down to pick up a bargain.

A barbecue will be held at the club from 11am. To reserve a space call the pro shop on 41593333.
